Terms of Service

Last updated 6 August 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Watch Party. By creating an account or using the app or thewatchpartyapp.com, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What Watch Party is. We are a place to find and organise football watch parties. The watch parties themselves are organised by supporters clubs and hosted by independent venues. We do not run the venues and we do not host the events. Whether a match is shown, what it costs, and what happens at the venue is between you, the club and the venue.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old, and at least 16 if you are in the UK or EU. You must be able to form a binding contract and not be barred from using the service under applicable law. If you use Watch Party on behalf of a supporters club or a venue, you confirm you are authorised to act for it.

Your account

Keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under it. Give us accurate information and keep it current โ€” a club or venue page that misrepresents who runs it may be removed.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display your content for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we are required to retain by law or that remain in routine backups for a limited period.

You are responsible for what you post. Only post content you have the right to post. Do not upload broadcast footage, streams or other material you do not own the rights to.

Acceptable use

Do not:

Reporting and moderation

You can report content and block other users from inside the app. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. We may remove content or terminate an account that breaks these terms, and we may do so without notice where there is a risk to someone's safety or to the service.

Clubs, venues and events

A club may request to host a watch party at a venue; a venue decides whether to approve it. Venues are responsible for their own premises, licensing, broadcast rights, capacity, age restrictions and safety. Clubs are responsible for what they publish about their events. Watch Party is not a party to any arrangement between you, a club and a venue, and we do not guarantee that any event will take place as described.

Check-in

Check-in confirms attendance at a venue and requires an RSVP, your location at that moment, and a code the venue displays. Attempting to check in when you are not present is a breach of these terms and may result in your account being suspended.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deletion runs after a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel it; see our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

Availability

We are an early-stage service and provide it "as is". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.

Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded โ€” including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and you may have consumer rights that these terms do not affect.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Texas will have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
